Safe Play is the USTA’s comprehensive athlete safety program that promotes a positive environment for all participants. Core to the program is Safe Play Approval which requires adults to submit to a criminal background check, acknowledge the USTA Safe Play Policy, and complete training from the U.S. Center for SafeSport on how to recognize and respond to misconduct. Safe Play Approval is required for Rally, Pro, and Pro Plus packages. While Safe Play Approval is encouraged for the Baseline package, it is not required. If your Safe Play Approval expires during your membership period, your membership will be temporarily suspended until you renew your Safe Play Approved status.

If your Safe Play Approval expires during your membership cycle, your membership status will change to "suspended." While suspended, you'll lose access to most membership benefits, excluding the Gallagher insurance policies. Your membership will return to "active" status once you renew your Safe Play Approval. If your membership expires while in suspended status, it will change to "lapsed."

USTA Coaching memberships are non-refundable. When you complete your purchase, you acknowledge that benefits and digital resources are activated immediately. You can cancel your subscription at any time to prevent auto-renewal for the next year, but you won't receive a refund for the current membership period. You'll continue to have access to all benefits for the remainder of your paid term.

If you decide to upgrade your membership to a higher package during your current membership period, the system will calculate the unused portion of your current package and apply a prorated credit toward the cost of the new package.

If you cancel your USTA Coaching membership, you'll maintain access to all your membership benefits for the remainder of your current term as long as you remain Safe Play Approved. Cancellation simply turns off the auto-renewal feature, preventing your membership from automatically renewing at the end of the term. Once your current term ends, your membership status will change to "Lapsed," and you'll no longer have access to membership benefits.

The USTA system automatically checks your Safe Play Approved status after you select your desired membership package and before you proceed to the Gallagher disclaimers/consent page. If you're not currently Safe Play Approved but have selected a membership tier that requires it (Rally, Pro, or Pro Plus), you'll see a modal informing you that Safe Play Approval is required to proceed. Once you are Safe Play Approved, you'll receive an email alerting you that you're now eligible to purchase your selected USTA Coaching package.

USTA Coaching, Inc. is the USTA’s national coach education and support initiative established to offer a holistic approach that enhances a coach’s life on and off the court. USTA Coaching provides role-specific education, meaningful benefits, and professional services that support not just coaching skills, but personal growth, career development, and community connection.

During the sign up process those without a USTA account will be prompted to create a USTA account which will also be their USTA Coaching account. Those signing up for USTA Coaching that already have a USTA account will be prompted to login to that account to complete the registration.
