Level Up with New USTA Coaching Upgrades
USTA Coaching is excited to announce a suite of major updates designed to modernize tennis instruction. These enhancements provide coaches with specialized knowledge, streamlined professional development pathways and better digital resources to improve player experiences across the country.
Expanding Specialized Knowledge: New Education Badges
To help coaches provide more nuanced and high-quality on-court experiences, USTA Coaching is expanding its educational library with new education badges. These badges are designed to offer fundamental, actionable knowledge in key areas of the game:
Cardio Tennis: Integrating fitness and high-energy drills.
Delivering Competition: Best practices for organizing and managing matches.
Coach Well-Being: Focusing on the mental and physical health of the instructors themselves.
CPR/AED and First Aid: Essential CPR, First Aid and AED awareness to ensure safe, responsive environments.
Intro to Tennis Coaching (Business): Navigating the professional and administrative side of the industry.
Coaching Female Athletes: Specifically covering Menstrual Health Essentials to better support female players.
Player Motivation and Engagement: Strategies to keep athletes inspired and coming back to the court.

Tennis at Your Fingertips: The USTA Coaching App
In a move to make lesson planning more mobile, the USTA Coaching App is now available exclusively on iOS for Apple devices. The app allows coaches to access an extensive library of drills, games and lesson plans from anywhere. To utilize these digital tools, users must be USTA Coaching subscribers (Baseline or higher) and have Safe Play Approval.
Streamlining the Path to Excellence
Another exciting update is the removal of prerequisites for the Intro to Coaching Workshop to help get new coaches on the court faster.
Open Access: Anyone with a Baseline package or higher can now sign up for the workshop immediately.
Flexible Completion: To earn their official Development Coach Badge before getting on the court to deliver experiences to players, coaches then need to complete Safe Play and the Intro to Coaching I & II modules at their own pace.
